Over the years we have developed a number of policies to cover various aspects of our life at Hazelmead. Policies are agreed by the membership and are reviewed annually, in order to respond to changes in circumstances and the needs of residents.
Sociocracy has proven to be a valuable tool in making good decisions that everyone can be part of. Decisions are made by residents giving their consent; where an objection is made the reason is explored and a solution is sought. The goal is for all to be able to live with the policy, not necessarily have everyone like it! Bridport Cohousing is a community group, not a rule-based organisation, so if anything here seems restrictive or even too casual, don’t be put off. The people who live in Hazelmead will be responsible for ensuring that policies continue to meet their aims and needs.
