The events below are a chance for Members and Friends to get together informally. They are also for anyone interested in Bridport Cohousing to find out more and meet people already involved. Children, partners and friends all very welcome.

We hold the following events so that you can have a chance to meet your potential neighbours. Come along and bring your questions about becoming a member and buying/renting a new eco-home from us.


Gardening day at Flaxhayes (our allotment) on the ‘to New Mills’ road, off St Swithins Road.
Usually 1st Sunday of the month (2 to 4pm) at our allotment (weather permitting), BUT NOT IN DECEMBER. A chance to meet and chat to some of our members and do some gentle gardening (tea break included!). Children welcome.

November 2019


Sunday 17th: 2 to 5pm

Public Awareness Event at Bridport Town Hall.

Spreading the word about the grant funded units available for shared ownership through Help To Buy SW, and social rent at Bridport Cohousing through our partner housing association.

An afternoon of short talks and lots of time for questions about  our cohousing project and information about the affordable housing we have on offer for local young people and families.

Free to attend but please book (and for more information) HERE

Places are limited so please only take a ticket if you are a local person, under 60* and  genuinely interested in finding out more.

*Currently our allocation of homes for people in the over-60 age group has been filled.



Thursday 21st: 2.30 to 4pm

“Meet the Neighbours” at the Ivy House Kitchen, Groves Nurseries, West Bay Road (see map HERE). It’s a big place, ask at the counter if you can’t find us.


Sunday 24th: 10.30 start (finish around noon)

Meet at Bucky Doo Square and walk to our future cohousing site. Gentle (mile or so) walk taking in beautiful views from the top of Allington Hill. Children and dogs welcome! Weather dependent. Please check website for cancellation.



December 2019


Wednesday 4th: 10.30am to 12 noon

“Meet the Neighbours” at Green Yard Cafe, 6 Barrack Street, Bridport. Find out more about our project.


Tuesday 10th: 7 to 9pm

Skittles evening at Woodman pub, 61 South Street (opposite St Mary’s church). Come along for a fun evening and meet some members. Children welcome. No skittling skill required !!


Sunday 15th: 10am to 12 noon 

Meet at our field for a gentle walk to Symondsbury, and arrive at the Kitchen for coffee/brunch for 10.45am. Or make your own way and meet us there. Children and dogs welcome! 

For directions to the starting point, our field is at the top end of Hospital Lane, off North Allington, near the hospital car park. Wear appropriate footwear.
